Keeping pace with the political leadership of the country, cooperative giant IFFCO’s CEO Dr US Awasthi paid respects to Dr B R Ambedkar on his 124th Birth Anniversary which was on Tuesday.
Popular known as Babasaheb, Dr Ambedkar was an economist, jurist and a social activist. He was Independent India’s first law minister and was architect of the Constitution of India.
Dr. U S Awasthi tweeted “ #iFFCO pays its deep respect to Babasaheb #Dr B R Ambedkar on his Birth Anniversary.”
Earlier, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the Father of the Indian Constitution, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, on his 124th birth anniversary. “I bow to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. Jai Bhim,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
“Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar is a Yug Purush who lives in the hearts of and minds of crores of Indians. His life is characterized by unmatched determination and a firm commitment towards social justice. He made a mark as a bright lawyer, scholar, writer and intellectual who always spoke his mind,” Prime Minister Modi said in his message.
Ambedkar embraced Buddhism in 1956 and led mass conversion of Dalits. In 1990, he was awarded with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.
On Tuesday IFFCO MD also greeted Baisakhi to his followers by tweeting “ Happy #Baisakhi to all.”
