IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi is on a whirlwind tour of West Bengal- meeting farmers and cooperators across the board. He met Mr K N Behera, the MD of BENFED in Kolkata in a bid to do something jointly for the farmers of the state.

On this occasion he also reminded his followers on Twitter of the great job of plantation undertaken by the IFFCO in the past in order to save the mangroves. Of let the MD of the largest farmers’ cooperative Dr Awasthi has been making efforts to save the soil from the dangerous erosion caused by the excessive use of chemical fertilizers. He has been touring areas after areas to bring about this awareness in the farming communities.
