U .S. Awasthi MD of the cooperative leviathan IFFCO has said on his tweeter Jordan India Fertiliser (JIFCO) has started producing phosphoric acid. The JIFCO is a joint venture between the Iffco and JordanPhosphate Mines Company.
The Iffco and its affiliates hold about 52 percent equity and the JPMC hold the remaining 48 percent. The Jordanian company is supposed to have an extraordinary expertise in running phophate mines in Jordan.
The IFFCO and the JPMC will buy back the entire production of phosphoric acid from the plant. Construction of the plant was started in 2010 and its capacity is 1500 tonnes a day of phosphoric acid and 4,500 tonnes a day of sulphuric acid.
The IFFCO also owns shares in Indian Potash Ltd, Industries Chimiques du Senegal, Oman India Fertiliser Company in Oman. It is also present in the insurance sector through a joint venture firm, IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance.
The IFFCO is the leading soil nutrient producer in the country, with an annual output of 4.4 million tonnes of urea and 4.3 million tonnes of complex fertilisers.
