IFFCO-MC, a joint venture between IFFCO and Japanese company Mitsubishi Corporation achieved a sale of Rs 100 crore in less than a couple of years of its inception. Held as a premium brand in the field of pesticides, IFFCO-MC products are driving away fake companies from the market, claims IFFCO.
IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi congratulated IFFCO-MC team for achieving this milestone. Readers would recall Arbinda Roy, Marketing Director of IFFCO was put at the helm of MC after his superannuation recently.
Awasthi’s tweet on the success read” Congratulations @ArbindaRoy & entire @iffcomc #IFFCOMC team for achieving sale of Rs. 100 crore today for FY17-18. Efforts are highly appreciable. Moving towards a good partnership with #Mitsubishi. #IFFCO is committed for better quality #agrochemicals for #farmers via @iffcomc.”
The IFFCO-MC was launched with the objective of saving farmers’ crops as 25 to 30 percent of them get destroyed due to poor quality pesticides available in the country. “We do not aim to earn profits”, MD had clarified at its launch.
“Ever eager to help the farmers of the country we saw some private companies exploiting them by providing bad quality pesticides and it is in this context that our MD decided to form a joint venture with Mitsubishi to manufacture quality pesticides”, said a senior Director.
The IFFCO-MC products are being made available to the farmers through IFFCO’s member-cooperatives across India. Its multiple products had been on display during MD’s Farmers’ Connect Campaign.
The joint venture provides high quality pesticides, herbicides and fungicides at reasonable rates and undeniably Mitsubishi and IFFCO are constantly working hard towards this goal, claimed IFFCO sources.
