IFFCO Rural Innovation Scheme is an instant sensation as within 24 hour of its launch it has attracted more than 600 new ideas, says its IT man entrusted with taking care of the technical part of it.
The IT man with IFFCO Kamal Kanth reported “Within 24 Hrs launch of #IFFCO Rural Innovation Scheme by Sh @drusawasthi . We have received more than 30,000 hits and more than 600 Ideas.”
It bears recall that in order to promote the novel ideas of talented youth of the countryside IFFCO launched this scheme. Subjects on which this scholarship would be given include farming, health, education, cleanliness, care for old people, women and children etc.
Announcing the scheme IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi said the idea must be technology-based and capable of conversion into industrial mode. He also said it must cover at least one million people.
The idea of Award has been incubating in the IFFCO MD’s mind ever since he has been traveling the length and breadth of the country meeting farmers. “I saw innovative and original application of mind in solving farming issues by some of the youths”, he underlined.
“For want of support such applications remain confined to just a few. Through this Innovation Award we aim to take the ideas to the wider public . There is no dearth of talent in our country and what we at IFFCO wish to do is to give them wings,” he added.

Earlier, a new pan-Indian portal “Indian Cooperative Digital Platform” aimed at transforming the rural landscape was dedicated to the farmers at Rewari in Haryana.
Billed as a game-changer, the portal allows farmers to both sell and buy agri products from anywhere in the country. It will serve IFFCO’s member societies and 4 crore farmers across the nation. It is seen as a pioneering effort by IFFCO in developing a vibrant online community.
This is the first digital platform ever built in 10 languages. It is an online community to empower farmers and the members of the IFFCO societies to interact, share ideas and explore immense opportunities available in the country.
