Marketing Director of IFFCO Mr Arvind Roy went all the way to Raipur on Friday to participate in the State Advisory Committee meeting, in which other notable presence was that of recently elected NAFSCOB Vice-Chairman Ashok Bajaj.
The issue of short supply of urea and DAP last year made our farmers run from pillar to post, reminded Ashok Bajaj in the meeting. He demanded that enough fertilizer should be made available to the state this year and requested the IFFCO officials to increase rake points for this purpose.
IFFCO Marketing Director Mr Roy emphasized on the need to use bio-fertilizer increasingly. He elaborated in detail the usefulness of Z ink Sulphate and other micro-nutrients towards increasing the worth of the soil.
IFFCO also narrated the scientific method of making compost fertilizer. IFFCO delegate Shashikant Dwivedi repeated the request of increased supply of urea and DAP.
The meeting discussed several issues related to soil health, training and harmfulness of excessive usage of chemical fertilizer.
Besides Roy and Bajaj those present in the meeting included MS Kerketta, A G Kureshi, Radheshyam Sharma, Krishna Prasad Jaisawal, Alok Thakur, Shivnarayan Kesharwani, L S Som and others.
