IFFCO Elections: Despite BJP Party whip, Radadiya defeats Gota

The results for the elections of board of directors of IFFCO have come out and the Gujarat seat, which was rated as the  hottest, has been won by outgoing director Jayesh Radadiya.

He defeated the Gujcomasol Vice-Chairman Bipin Gota. It bears recalling that state BJP unit had issued whip in Gota’s favour. Despite this, Radadiya made it— a big feat indeed.

Radadiya polled 114 votes out of 180 . His supporters cheered in the auditorium as the counting progressed and was visible through high tech live cameras for the audience.

Besides, the other hot seat of MP- Chhattisgarh has been won by Rishiraj Singh Sisodia. He defeated sitting director Amit Singh as well as Kaushal Sharma from this seat. Singh was third runner up. Sisodia bagged 17 votes, Sharma got 12 votes. Singh received only 8 votes.

Karnataka election was no less interesting where Annasaheb Jolle, BJP MP was pitted against strong man and old timer at IFFCO, K Srinivasa Gowda. Each got 34 votes and a recounting was ordered. Later, in a draw of luck Gowda won. It was indeed a lucky day for him.

In the seat from Odisha-West Bengal- Andaman & Nicobar, the outgoing Director Simachal Padhy again retained it defeating his rival Santimoy Dey. Padhy received 38 votes while Dey got 20 votes.

The Kerala-Tamil Nadu seat was won by S Shakthvel, who got 23 votes. His rival Sumesh A received 20 votes.

The lone seat reserved for Women on the board of IFFCO, was won by new comer Varsha Kasturkar by just one vote. it was indeed a bad day for Sadhana Jadhav. Varsha polled 25 votes while Sadhana got 24.

The Rajasthan seat was won by Ramniwas Garhwal, who got 39 votes while his rival Kripa Ram Chaudhari received 17 votes.
