Biscomaun Chairman and an IFFCO RGB member Dr Sunil Kumar Singh was the hero of the show as he regaled the audience with his style and content of speech. Though humorous to the core Sunil did not forget to voice the aspirations of delegates as well.
Talking about IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani, Sunil said that even small achievers have greater air about themselves than Sanghani who is four-time MP. Such is the simplicity of this man that people tend to take him lightly but mind you he is a competent administrator which is borne out by the fact that he is heading not only scores of co-op organizations but also NCUI and IFFCO.
Calling Awasthi the man of the epoch, Sunil said that he deserves an award even higher than Bharat Ratna. IFFCO’s achievements have filled each and every co-operator of the country with pride and respect, he stated.
Calling co-operatives precursors to all the great movements in the country, Sunil said that from green revolution to white revolution to now Nano revolution were also ushered in by the cooperatives of the country.
But most of what was lapped up by the audience from Sunil was his half-serious suggestion to double the gold gift to delegates. “You have been giving us 5 gm gold year after year but in the wake of unprecedented profits we do not mind taking 10 grams of gold from IFFCO”, said Sunil amidst laughter from the gallery.
Sunil’s other suggestion about organizing tours of 21 co-ops every year to different IFFCO plants including Jordan and Oman was also received by the audience with great applause. Even those on the dais including the IFFCO Chairman and MD could not help smiling at Sunil’s frankness.
He also assured the audience on the occasion that the books on Dr Awasthi will be included in all the libraries of Bihar where he is not only an MLC but also enjoys the Ministerial Rank.
Sunil ended his speech with a couplet eulogizing the duo Dileep-Uday and said they are ushering in a new India where co-operatives play a major role.
