Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated a farmers meet & an exhibition organized by the fertilizer giant IFFCO in Shetrunji Dam Tal Palitana, Gujarat on Wednesday. More than 5000 farmers attended the event.
IFFCO’s newly elected Director from Gujarat Dileepbhai Sanghani and Marketing Director Yogendra Kumar and other senior officials welcomed the minister. On the occasion, IFFCO had setup an exhibition which showcased IFFCO’s products for the farmers
The news was shared by IFFCO Managing Director through social media and wrote, “Today, Hon’ble MoS for Chemicals & Fertilisers Sh. Sh.@Dileep_Sanghani & @iffcoyogendra were also present”.
The minister planted trees during his visit under the Plant Neem Campaign being run by IFFCO across the country. IFFCO is targeting to plant more than 2 lakh neem trees in Gujarat.
In his another tweet Awasthi wrote, “Sh. Mansukh Mandaviya @mansukhmandviya also planted a tree dedicated to #WorldEnviromentDay. #IFFCO is dedicated to environment & nature. Taking its campaign of #PlantANeem across the country #IFFCO will be planting more than 2Lakh #Neem tree in #Gujarat.”
Awasthi also shared several photographs through social media which showed a large number of women and youths
Kumar has been advocating use of bio-fertilizers in all the farmers’ meet he attends. This is keeping in line with IFFCO’s new strategy of moving away from the chemical fertilizer and encouraging use of bio-fertilizer by the farmers, said an official of IFFCO to Indian Cooperative
“We are moving in tandem with the Modi govt which also stresses increased use of bio-fertilizer. It may sound paradoxical that being the producer of largest chemical fertilizer in the country we are yet promoting bio-fertilizers. This is because good of the country comes before profit for cooperative in general and IFFCO in particular”, Kumar said lauding the role being played by the cooperative sector in the country.
