The IFFCO team led by its Chairman B S Nakai and MD Dr U S Awasthi took the towns of Punjab by storm during its Golden Jubilee Celebrations this week. Starting with Chandigarh, they visited Jalandhar, Patiala and on Wednesday Rampur Phul in Bhatinda.
A large number of farmers and cooperators turned up to meet the team.
Addressing the farmers and cooperators, B S Nakia the Chairman and a native of Punjab said “IFFCO stands for quality, service and is the pride of farmers” to the thunderous applause of locals.
In Jalandhar-the 97th destination of the team more than 2000 farmers had come to attend the show. Lovely Professional University (LPU) which hosted the team took part in IFFCO’s activities with enthusiasm. Students presented a cultural show based on IFFCO’s theme song” mitti ki jaan, kisan ki shan”.

In Patiala, as in other places camps for cashless transactions were organized. B S Nakai inaugurated the IFFCO exhibition displaying the cooperative behemoth’s various activities in the service of farmers.
A large number of women farmers-cooperators had come to meet IFFCO team in Patiala forcing Awasthi to tweet “IFFCO treats all farmers as its part” in Hindi.
Rampur Phul which was the 99th destination of IFFCO team also saw a large turnout of farmers numbering more than 2000, according to IFFCO MD tweets. Addressing the assembly Dr Awasthi said IFFCO is ever eager to lend all kinds of help to farmers.
Actually, IFFCO is an idea that seeks to connect Bharat to India, underlined Awasthi. Farmers are part of the huge food-system and they cannot remain aloof from growth and development, Iffco aims to make them an inseparable part of the growth story, he added.
