The 50th AGM of IFFCO, when it introduced Nano urea before the world, would also be remembered for the unprecedented trust delegates displayed in the MD Dr U S Awasthi leadership.
Referring obliquely to the CBI investigation initiated against the MD, delegates after delegates exhorted the MD to continue with his good work and said such roadblocks do befall every successful man.
In his vote of thanks, IFFCO’s Vice-Chairman also indirectly hinted at the set-backs the MD had to suffer due to the CBI threat. Sanghani said even the Sun gets obliterated during solar eclipse but can the Sun be kept in darkness forever, he asked. Sounding confident of Awasthi coming out of all troubles, Sanghani lauded his role in furthering the cause of farmers of the country.
Chaudhary Prahalad Singh, the IFFCO Director from Haryana said that no matter what his opposition may do to disturb him, Awasthi has already proved that none can match him. Sunil Khatari, again from Haryana echoed Prahalad Singh.
Shishpal Singh Yadav, the strongman from Hapur, who was earlier in the IFFCO Board said “Nothing could be sadder than the fact that a man who has always stood by the farmers of the country is being hauled up in broad daylight on imaginary charges.”
There were many others who spoke on the occasion, reposing their absolute faith in the IFFCO MD Dr Awasthi. These included Naina Sah from Gujarat, the first woman RGB member, Dey from West Bengal, Sisodia from MP and several others.
Two-minute silence for the departed souls was also kept in the beginning. It bears recalling that Pramod Kumar Singh, Dr G N Saxena, Kamal Verma and many others lost their lives due to the pandemic.
