The Managing Director of the fertilizer cooperative IFFCO, Dr U S Awasthi has congratulated Union Railway Minister Mr Suresh Prabhu on being rated as “one among the top five ministers” in the team of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Awasthi who is said to enjoy a unique chemistry with the Minister for many decades now quickly shared the good news among his followers. He tweeted “ #IFFCO is very happy to learn that #Suresh Prabhu ji has been ranked among top five minister@sureshpprabhu”.
Prabhu who is also hailed in media as an efficient Minister as he delivered well in his past stints as Minister, was hand-picked by the Prime Minister Modi for the course-correction of the largest transporter of the world that is Indian Railway.
Though much of what he may be wanting to do is not yet visible on the ground ; the direction and the intent of the Minister are being appreciated on the completion of the first year of Modi rule.
Prabhu’s bid to delegate power is seen as game-changer. He first delegated his powers to Railway Board which in turn delegated them to the GMs- the real field officers who have to act in a real-time framework.
But Prabhu has no fancy for big-announcements which he says always end up in controversies. He believes he is presiding over a bloodless coup in the Ministry by upturning the old structure with new.
He has begun “E-tendering; launched process of creating a railway regulator and is creating an integrated IT platform. His actions are being watched very keenly in the cooperative sector as cooperators find in him their reflections due to his long association with the movement.
