With the launch date of the Nano fertilizer inching closer, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi undertook the risk of Covid 19 and visited Kalol unit in Gujarat, where Nano products are being developed by a dedicated team of scientists.
Dr Awasthi also visited the Nano Biotechnology Research Centre to have an overview of the Nano fertilizer unit. He expressed his satisfaction at the progress being made in this regard. He thanked all the workers involved in completing this work.
It was the first visit of the IFFCO MD post Covid 19. While interacting with engineers of various sections of the plant, he was highly impressed by the excellent work they were doing under the leadership of Kalol Unit Head Deepak G Inamdar, and Dr Ramesh Raliya.
He visited each and every section of the centre and took stock of the situation. Sharing details through social media the IFFCO MD wrote, ” During my #IFFCO #Kalol unit visit I met all the scientists, researchers & engineers of Nano Biotechnology Research Centre @IFFCO_NBRC & took an overview of Nano Fertiliser Unit at Kalol. Good progress of the Nano Fertiliser plant”.
DG Inamdar, the Kalol Unit Head who supervises Nano products thanked the MD for the first visit to his plant after lockdown and said he would seriously work on suggestions made by him to make the plant a better and safer place.
Later on, Dr Ramesh Raliya- the scientist who helped develop Nano products thanked Dr Awasthi through his twitter wall. He wrote, “Respected MD Sir, we are thankful to you for visiting us. Your guidance and vision for sustainable and Environment friendly agriculture inputs inspire and motivate us. Everyone here is so grateful for your affection and care during this unprecedented time of COVID 19”.
Nano products have been developed indigenously at the IFFCO Nano Biotechnology Research Centre (NBRC) in the Kalol Unit. Recently, IFFCO launched another Nano lab in its Aonla unit.
It is said that Nano-structured formulations will reduce the requirement of conventional nitrogen chemical fertilizers by 50%, deliver nutrition to the plant in an environmentally sustainable manner and be available to the farmers at reduced costs.
The field trials of IFFCO’s Nano fertilizers have been hogging the media headlines, with the IFFCO MD leading from the front. He keeps posting stories and videos of their successful trials from across the country. Experts also believe that if it passes the test it may prove to be a game-changer not only for India but also for the world.
