Best wishes from India. Your leadership will be bringing innovative ideas for growth of global cooperative movement.”

IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi calls Guarco, a friend of Indian cooperative movement. It bears recall that on an invitation of IFFCO, Guarco had visited India when Union Minister Amit Shah had, for the first time as Cooperation Minister, addressed a massive co-op conclave in Delhi.

Guarco had also met Union minister separately after the mega event. Around 3 million cooperatives from 110 countries of the world are associated with the International Cooperative Alliance.

The members of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) have renewed the mandate of Ariel Guarco for the next four years. Soon after his victory, Ariel Guarco said: “I am humbled to be re-elected president of the ICA. In these four years I have done my best to meet the commitments of my mandate and I will offer once again my commitment, my dedication and my enthusiasm to move forward in a new chapter where we can crystallize new achievements.”

With an integrative vision forged “from the end of the world”, since 2017 the leader managed to put the ICAI in the hands of its members, which include more than 300 organizations from 110 countries on all continents.

Among the strategic objectives set by the President of Cooperative for his second term, there are three strategic objectives: promote cooperative identity as the best path towards sustainable development, increase levels of incidence in international representation bodies and deepening levels of institutional and economic integration among the different actors of cooperative at a global level, reads a post from Guarco camp.

Our duty, as the International Cooperative Alliance, is to continue to promote cooperativeism in every corner of the world, to continue to give voice to each community, to express itself with its full economic, social and cultural potential”, it adds.
