The gathering included Board Members of the cooperative and functionaries of Kanak Foundation, senior officials of government departments, Executive Director of Delhi Metro, Chief Executive of Delhi State Cooperative Union, and members of Residents Associations.
Dr Prakash had been associated with International Cooperative Alliance Regional Office for Asia-Pacific and later with IFFCO Foundation.
Shri Lakhan Lal Sahu is the Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Union. Sahu is also a member of NCUI’s Governing Council and is the first person to propound the idea of bharat ratna award for rural and cooperative fields.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gajendra Pal singh Saran, Coordinator of the Society paid tributes to Dr Prakash for his contributions to the development of Cooperative Movement. Saran also listed the works done by Lakhan Lal Sahu.
In his speech Dr Prakash said the Cooperative has done a yeoman service not only to the members but also to the community including women and children. He mentioned that the best way to serve the community is through an effective participative strategy by the cooperative to be transparent and extending member-friendly services.
The Award-giving ceremony was tagged with the holding of Annual General Body Meeting of the Cooperative. A range of community services like blood donation camp and free medical check-up was conducted at the venue.
