VAMNICOM launches 58th PGDCBM batch; Marathe presides

The Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) inaugurated the 58th batch of its flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Cooperative Business Management (PGDCBM) program in a grand ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries and industry experts.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Professor R.K. Meno, followed by an overview of the program presented by Ms. Vijayashri M. Bhagawati, Joint Programme Director. This inauguration sets the stage for participants to embark on a transformative journey, aiming to drive innovation and leadership within the cooperative sector, claimed a press release from the Vamnicom.

The event was presided over by Shri Satish Marathe, Director, Central Board of RBI and Founder Member of Sahakar Bharti, who emphasized the importance of cooperative education in advancing India’s cooperative movement.

Dr. Hema Yadav, Director of VAMNICOM & CICTAB, warmly welcomed the 26 participants, who represent a wide spectrum of cooperative sectors, including multi state cooperatives, state cooperative banks, marketing organizations, sugar and milk cooperatives, startups, and offices of the Registrar of Cooperatives from Karnataka and Meghalaya, alongside PACS representatives.

She stressed the program’s pivotal role in fostering leadership and innovation in the cooperative sector.

Vinod Anand, Founder Executive of WCEF and President of the PGDCBM Alumni Association, highlighted the program’s transformative potential in developing leaders equipped to strengthen and modernize the cooperative ecosystem.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests such as Smt. Rashmi Darad, Chief General Manager, NABARD; Dr. Rakesh Arrawatia, Professor at IRMA and Adjunct Faculty at LBSNAA; Shri Abhishek Kumar, DGM and MoF at the College of Agricultural Banking.

Others present included Shri Pankaj Gaur, Lead-Business Development at DWARA; Shri Rajesh Kumar Surwase, Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies; Shri Manoj Yadav, IT Services – Digital Banking Delivery Channels at Cosmos Bank; and Shri Ajit Bhale, Co-Founder of Mettarev Systems. These eminent personalities encouraged participants to leverage the program to address challenges and contribute meaningfully to the cooperative movement.

It concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Mahesh Kadam, Associate Professor, while overall coordination was managed by Mr. Shivaji Walke, Research Officer.
