Uttarakhand State Cooperative Federation (UCF) organized its 13th Annual General Meeting recently and presented its annual report among more than 100 delegates present on the occasion. The Federation earned a net profit of Rs 5.75 crore in 2020-21.
In the 2020-21 financial year, UCF has done a business turnover of more than Rs 5 billion. With the distribution of fertilizers, organic fertilizers, seeds, price support, ayurvedic medicines, animal feed, agricultural chemicals, the federation earned an income of Rs 2.61 crore.
The meeting was presided over by the federation’s officiating Chairman Matwar Singh Rawat and the MD-in Charge M P Tripathi presented details about the activities and other details of the federation before the shareholders.
Addressing the gathering, Rawat said that Uttarakhand Cooperative Federation will increase its purchasing centers. The land owned by the federation at Halduchaur will be used for generating income opportunities. Besides, the federation has constituted a welfare fund to help the needy. On the occasion, a proposal for the formation of PMU was also passed in the AGM to increase the business of UCF, said the officiating chairman.
In a bid to buy Mandwa, Jhangora, Soyabean, Rajma and all the produce from remote farmers of the mountains, the Uttarakhand Cooperative Union has passed a proposal to open 62 purchasing centers.
Under the Warehousing Scheme, Uttarakhand Cooperative Federation proposes to set up new warehouses of 5000 metric tonnes at Halduchaur through NABARD.
The former Chairman of UCF Ghanshyam Nautiyal said that there was a demand to create a welfare fund. Their representatives and employees have gone through a big crisis during the Covid period.
A representative from Haridwar, Sushil Rathi demanded that the honorarium given to the shareholders should be increased by Rs 700. It is not possible to bear this cost of representatives who came from Pithoragarh.
On the occasion, UCF Director Rajendra Singh Negi, Director Vijay Santri, Director Deepak Chauhan, Director Hardesh Singh Director and others were present.
Uttarakhand State Co-operative Federation Ltd (UCF) is the multipurpose Federation of Uttarakhand. UCF was registered on 15th July 2002 after bifurcation from U.P. Co-operative Federation Ltd, (PCF) Lucknow as a result of the formation of Uttarakhand State on 9 November 2000.
