The BJP govt of Uttrakhand is gearing up to have new faces in the cooperative organizations across the state. Mostly dominated by the erstwhile ruling Party Congress in the past, the BJP govt of Trivendra Singh Rawat wants to break-free of status quo.
The election process of different cooperative organizations of state had begun in July. Polls did take place for many coops but due to state civic poll the election schedule of DCCBs bank was extended.
Now the nominations for DCCBs have begun. According to state sources, candidates are filing nominations for getting elected to the new boards of District Central Cooperative Banks in the state.
It is to be noted that there are 10 DCCBs in Uttarakhand. Out of which six DCCBs are in Garhwal Mandal and the remaining four are in Kumaon Mandal.
The election will be held in two phases. For Garhwal Mandal the polling for the Directors will be held on 4 December and the election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman will be held on 5th December. In DCCBs falling under Kumaon Mandal polling will be held on 10th December and election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman will be held next day that is on 11th December.
The six DCCBs which come under the Garhwal Mandal include Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Pauri, Chamoli and Haridwar DCCBs. The DCCBs which comes in Kumaon Mandal includes, Almora, Nainital DCCBs and others.
According to the State Cooperative Election Authority Member Rajendra Prasad Sharma more than 150 nomination papers have been distributed to the candidates who are contesting elections in the six DCCBs falling under Garhwal region. On 4th December the election of board members will take place and the results will also announced the same day, Sharma informed.
According to election process, the scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on 29th November and withdrawal of nomination can be done till 30th November.
On 12th and 13th December the election of State Cooperative Resham Federation will be held and on 14th and 15th December the election of Dairy Federation are slated to be concluded.
