The apex body of cooperatives-NCUI successfully launched its first Lecture of Coops4GenNext Knowledge Series on Cooperatives, an initiative that provides a good interactive cooperative knowledge-sharing platform for youth.
It was launched on the occasion of “World Youth Skills Day”. The inaugural lecture titled “Cooperatives: Social Business Model for Inclusive and Sustainable Development” was delivered by Dr. KK Tripathy, a renowned cooperative expert and OSD to the Cooperation Minister, Govt. of India.
Sharing the details through twitter wall, NCUI wrote, “During his talk, Dr Tripathy shed light on the essence of cooperative, emphasizing its significance and role in fostering inclusive & sustainable development.
The speaker delved deeper into the status and remarkable contributions of cooperatives to India’s thriving economy, and explained how to address issues within the cooperative movement.
Furthermore, Tripathy highlighted the importance of engaging youth in cooperatives, discussing the reasons for it and emphasized their connection to this transformative sector. Dr Tripathy also touched upon the significant decisions and initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Cooperation.
The session was engaging and interactive, with around 200 participants joining in to absorb the wisdom and insights shared. The enthusiastic audience actively participated in a lively Q&A session, enriching the conversation with their thought-provoking questions, claims NCUI officials.
The Coops4GenNext Knowledge Series on Cooperatives has had a remarkable start, empowering and inspiring the GenNext to harness the power of coops for a brighter future, read a post of NCUI, they aver.
On several occasions, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah had also laid emphasis on the importance of the participation of youth and women in the cooperative sector, they argue.
