Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the new office building for the three Multi State Cooperative Societies – Bhartiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL), National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) and National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL) on Wednesday at World trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi.
National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL), aims at fostering exports from the cooperative sector. Cooperative societies at all levels, from grassroots to national, are eligible for membership.
The organization is dedicated to facilitating exports through a range of activities, including procurement, storage, processing, marketing, branding, labelling, packaging, certification, research and development, as well as trading of various goods and services produced by cooperative societies.
Besides, the National Cooperative Organic Limited (NCOL) has been established as a national-level multi-state cooperative society to make India a global leader in organic products.
The NCOL will act as an umbrella organisation by managing the entire supply chain of organic products produced by various cooperative societies and related institutions across the country in collaboration with the concerned Ministries of the Government of India, following the ‘Whole of Government Approach’.
Similarly, Bharatiya Beej Sahkari Samiti Limited (BBSSL) is to act as an umbrella organization for advanced and traditional seed research and production along with processing and marketing through the cooperative sector.
It will provide assistance to cooperatives across the country in demand-based seed production, development of infrastructure for storage, processing and packaging of seeds, logistics support, quality enhancement and standardization, requisite certification and marketing of the seeds produced.
The event will be attended by the Secretaries and other senior officers of the related Central Ministries/Departments, Officials from all the three newly formed organizations (BBSSL, NCOL, NCEL), officials from related organizations such as Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), officials of Foreign Embassies in India, officials of the Promoters of the three societies and officials and delegates from the National Cooperative Federations across the country will attend the event.
