Simply Desi, in collaboration with Sahakar Bharati, Maharashtra Pradesh, has inaugurated the “Simply Desi National Co-operative Mela” at the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) in Nagpur. The event, which commenced on February 23 and ran until February 26, serves as a platform to showcase products from cooperative societies across the country.
National President Dinanath Thakur, former MLA Anil Sole, and Director of MSME P M Parlewar were among the dignitaries who graced the inauguration ceremony, underscoring the significance of cooperative initiatives in fostering economic growth and empowering local communities.
A recent workshop organized by SimplyDesi, in partnership with Flipkart, aimed to raise awareness among self-help groups and rural credit organizations, further highlighting the commitment to support grassroots initiatives.
Vinod Tawde, National General Secretary, lauded the efforts of Simplydesi and emphasized the role of government support in providing marketing platforms for self-employed individuals and members of self-help groups.
In the past, former Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar commended Sahakar Bharati for its proactive approach in promoting agricultural produce and supporting local artisans. The India International Cooperatives Trade Fair held earlier, provided a significant platform for cooperative organizations from India and abroad to converge and showcase their products.
The event, attended by prominent personalities and officials, underscored the historic importance of the cooperative movement in enhancing rural prosperity and fostering sustainable development.
