Shah honours achievers; StCbs, DCCBs & PACS in list

The iconic Bharat Mandapam on Tuesday witnessed a vibrant gathering of representatives from short-term credit structure cooperatives across India, who assembled to celebrate 60 years of the apex body of state cooperative banks—NAFSCOB. The occasion will be etched as a golden chapter in NAFSCOB’s history.

On this momentous occasion, several state cooperative banks, district central cooperative banks (DCCBs), and primary agricultural credit societies (PACS) were recognized and honoured with awards in various categories, presented by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

The state cooperative banks honoured included the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank, represented by its Administrative Board Chairman Vidyadhar Anaskar; the Kerala State Cooperative Bank, represented by its CEO Jorty M. Chacko; and the Tamil Nadu State Cooperative Bank, represented by its MD, P. Loganathan.

The Goa State Cooperative Bank’s award was received by its Chairman, Ulhas B. Phal Dessai, and CEO Anant M. Chodankar. Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank was represented by its MD, Shrinath Reddy; Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank by Chairman Devendra Shyam and CEO Sharwan Manta; and Gujarat State Cooperative Bank by Ajaybhai Patel.

Awards were also given to Mizoram Cooperative Apex Bank, Sikkim State Cooperative Bank, and Karnataka State Cooperative Apex Bank.

In the DCCB category, Krishna DCCB’s Person-in-Charge, Geetanjali Sharma, and CEO Shyam Manohar received the award on behalf of the bank. Similarly, on behalf of Satara DCCB, Chairman Nitin Patil and CEO Rajendra Sarkale received the award from Shah. Other DCCBs awarded included Surat DCCB, Karimnagar DCCB, and Akola DCCB, among others.

A few PACS were also recognized during the event. The ceremony was attended by MoS Krishan Pal Gurjar, Muralidhar Mohol, and other dignitaries, adding to the grandeur of the celebrations.
