The Chairman of the apex body of co-operatives, NCUI, and IFFCO Dileep Sanghani on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Parliamentary office and discussed the newly developed IFFCO Nano Urea, among other issues.
Sanghani’s proximity with the Prime Minister made it possible for him to meet the PM at rather very short notice. Talking to Indian Cooperative Sanghani disclosed that the main discussion with the PM pertained to the IFFCO Nano Urea Technology and how it is being used fruitfully by farmers across states.
“Modijee heard me out patiently as I went on narrating the experiences of farmers using Nano Urea including that of apple growers of J&K whose fruits have become juicier and tastier after the application of Nano Urea”, said Sanghani.
“I also thanked him for his huge contribution to the co-op sector especially for creating a separate ministry of cooperation, a much sought-after demand of the cooperative sector. We held discussions about strengthening the cooperative movement of the country”, he added.
Despite Modi’s busy schedule, the two leaders talked for more than 20 minutes. Co-operators across the board were overjoyed as soon as Sanghani posted his picture with the PM on social media. It augurs well for the co-op sector that one of us could meet the PM so effortlessly, which was how most of the co-operators reacted.
Another user wrote, ” Nice, despite such a hectic schedule, the meeting is a big thing & to discuss the matter which has already been covered in the Independence Day Speech of the PM, seems interesting. Whereas the discussion about the NCUI making a New Coop policy would have been even more interesting”.
When Indian Cooperative phoned him, Sanghani was at the Ahmedabad airport after wrapping up a fruitful visit to Delhi.
Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Banas Dairy Kashi Sankul at Karkhiyaon in Varanasi today. The objective of this project is to empower the farmers and milk producers of the Purvanchal region and provide good quality products at affordable prices, as per a government statement.
