A novel idea aimed at boosting the art and culture in society is being experimented in Gujarat at the behest of senior co-operator Dileep Sanghani. The effort is to train and offer financial support to at least one lakh artists in the very first year of its existence. With the era of kings and Shahan shahs behind us, such efforts are laudable, say co-operators.
In order to help artists, a society namely Shri Kaladhar Multi Credit and Savings Cooperative Society has been established under the Gujarat Cooperative Society Act in Amreli district of Gujarat.
The first meeting of the newly established society was held under the Chairmanship of Nafscob Chairman and IFFCO Vice-Chairman Dileepbhai Sanghani last week. On the occasion, former chairman of Gujarat Rajya Sangeet Natak Akademi Yogesh Gadhvi was also present.
Sharing the information, Bhawna Gondaliya, head of the society said, “The membership will be given to those people who want to make art as their business. The members who want to make their children artists, can associate with the society.
“The newly established society will work in all the areas from giving training to organizing events in the country or abroad to highlight Indian culture”, she said.
Besides, all the members associated with the arts sector will be given economic and social help. We will also give loans to make the documentary films on cooperatives. We are going to work with the people involved in the arts sector”, Gondaliya underlined.
She further added that the society has been established with the share capital of Rs 1 lakh and we aim to make 1 lakh artists as the members of the society in the span of one year. Besides, we are planning to open branches in every district and will shift its head office to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The objective is to give the platform to the artists under one roof to perform”, she asserted.
The society consists of 11 people including Bhawna Gondalia, Bhawna Patel, Jatin Seth, Ajay Agrawat, Dharmesh Patel, Bhogilal Jogi, Ghanshyam Gadhavi, Sikander Khan Pathan, Bharat Vanja, Bhavesh Gondaliya and Jyoti Yadav.
During the first meeting it was decided to expand the area of operation of the society in the entire state of Gujarat.
