A high-level meeting between the government representatives and hundreds of representatives of RSS affiliated bodies took place last Thursday in NDMC Convention Centre, Delhi. A large number of Sahakar Bharati officials from across states took part in the meeting.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his three Cabinet colleagues including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Minister of Labour Bhupender Yadav and Minister of Heavy Industries Mahendra Nath Pandey participated.
RSS affiliated bodies included Sahakar Bharati, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Laghu Udyog Bharati, and Grahak Panchayat Sangathan. Senior RSS leaders Arun Kumar and Krishna Gopal were also present.
More than 88 officials of Sahakar Bharati attended the meeting. They were drawn not only from the Central Head office but also the top leadership of every state and Union Territories.
Some of the top Sahakar Bharati officials included D N Thakur, President, Uday Joshi, General Secretary and Sanjay Pachpor, a Parcharak and the Organizing Secretary of Sahakar Bharati.
A top Sahakar Bharati official said on condition of anonymity that the meeting discussed the prevailing political and economic situations of the country. “We discussed, among other things, the consequences of the ongoing war between Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas for the Indian economy”, he added.
IANS adds that the RSS representatives in the meeting raised issues like e-commerce businesses and negative impacts due to changes in labour law, including the problems arising due to various other policies of the government.
Talking to Indian Cooperative, a Sahakar Bharati official said that the meeting was primarily aimed at briefing the cadre on the achievements of the govt. Each minister briefed us about various initiatives undertaken by their ministry.
“During the meeting, the Union Ministers gave a detailed presentation about the work and achievements done by the concerned ministry during the last 9 years”, he added.
Another source added that prior to the high-level meeting, the top leadership of BJP including its President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Défense Minister Rajnath Singh had held a meeting with the top officials of RSS, in which Sangh’s Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, Sah Sar Karyavah Dr Krishna Gopal, Arun Kumar and senior Sangh official Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi had participated.
On the question if Sahakar Bharati also made any presentation before the galaxy of ministers on the cooperative sector, the official said that the occasion was not meant such an event. “Such occasion will soon come before the budget when we will present our view on cooperative and economy before the Minister in what is known as Pre-Budget consultations”, he added.
Though the leaders would not admit it, the meeting was aimed at preparing the cadre for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The good work done by the Modi govt must percolate down to the lowest rung and in this the cadre can play a crucial role, several political pundits agree.
