Sahakar Bharati aims to enlist 10 lakh members

Much like what Amit Shah did in terms of increasing the membership base of the BJP, Sahakar Bharati leaders are active across 400 districts in the country enlisting members. From Satish Marathe, Jyotindra Mehta, Uday Joshi, Ramesh Vaidya to Sanjay Pachpor-leaders have fanned out across states strengthening the co-op movement at the grassroots level.

Addressing a meeting at the RSS office in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh last Saturday, Sahakar Bharati National Organizing Secretary Sanjay Pachpor said, “Sahakar Bharati has been organizing membership drive from 1st April to 31st March 2020 and aims to achieve a target of 10 lakh individual members as the members of Sahakar Bharati”.

“By organizing different seminars and workshops across districts of the country, we are urging people’s to become members of Sahakar Bharati. There is a nominal fee of Rs 50 for becoming an individual member. We give training to our members and educate them on the cooperative model”, Pachpor said to this correspondent on the phone.

Pachpor further added that recently we organized a meeting for dairy cooperatives at Anand, Gujarat and also held a meeting of representatives of UCBs at Udaipur, Rajasthan. Now we are planning to organize a conference for fishery, consumer, credit cooperatives and others. During this conference, we will take a note of issues confronting them while running their business and resolving them”, he informed.

Besides, Sahakar Bharati is also planning to extend its network in over 700 districts of India in a period of three years. More than 35 crore peoples are associated with over 8.5 lakh cooperative societies in India”, he underlined.

“Through Sahakar Bharati we are trying hard to associate people with the cooperative movement and providing them employment opportunities. We are also trying to connect with all cooperative bodies in the country”, Pachpor, who is a full time Pracharak of RSS underlined

Pachpor added that cooperative can contribute in doubling the income of farmers. He also underlined the fact that cooperative is a mass movement that is independent of politics.

Sahakar Bharati State President Ramashankar Jaiswal, Sahakar Bharati State General Secretary Dr Pravin Jadaun and others were present during the meeting.
