The third National Women’s Convention of Sahakar Bharati was held on 15th and 16th December at Kanha Shantivanam, Bhagyanagar in Hyderabad-Telangana, amidst great enthusiasm being displayed by women co-operators.
The convention was inaugurated by Shri Kamlesh who is the founder chairman of “Heartfulness Center”—a centre aimed at balanced growth of the human mind. Top leaders of Sahakar Bharati present on the occasion included its President Dinanath Thakur, General Secretary Dr. Uday Joshi and National Organizing Secretary Sanjay Pachpor.
Head of All India Women’s Coordination Committee Mrs. Bhagyashree Sathe, Head of women’s cell at Sahakar Bharati Mrs. Revati Shendoornikar, President of Mulkanur Cooperative Praveen Reddy and several others were present.
The power of Women can strengthen the Cooperative Movement beyond measure and help achieve the goal of national development”, said Uday Joshi in the conference populated by WomenDirectors of Cooperative Societies, Office Bearers of SHG or JLG Representatives, Representatives from Federations / Associations from all over the country.
Union Finance Minister, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman who was invited to address the conference could not make it due to her last minute preoccupations.
A Survey Report on Women CoOperative Institutions was presented in the Mahila Adhiveshan, through which some important suggestions for the efficient participation of Women in the CoOperative Sector are to be made. Selected Success Stories of Women CoOperative Societies were also presented on the occasion.
Sahakar Bharati’ is a voluntary organization working at the National level in the field of CoOperation, since 11th January, 1979, with the mission statement “Bina Sanskar Nahi Sahakar”. Sahakar Bharati has extended its geographical spread in almost 28 States & 650 + Districts across the Country.
The aim and activities of Sahakar Bharati include – encouraging its functionaries to form new CoOperative Societies, providing leadership in the Cooperative Movement, helping Societies in solving their problems, organising Skill Development Programmes and Trainings to uplift and enhance the efficiency of Cooperators, enquire and explore new dimensions and fields of cooperative activities and strengthen the self-reliance endeavours of Women through formation of Self Help Groups.
