The 8th National Convention of Sahakar Bharati was inaugurated by the organization’s National President, Deenanath Thakur, and National General Secretary, Dr. Uday Joshi, at the Railway Ground in Amritsar, Punjab on Friday.
The event began with the hoisting of the Cooperation Flag. The inaugural session was graced by the Chief Guest, Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, Shankarbhai Chaudhary. During the ceremony, Deenanath Thakur honoured Chaudhary with the revered Laxmanrao Inamdar Award.
Addressing the gathering, Thakur expressed his delight at hosting Sahakar Bharati’s National Convention for the first time on the sacred land of Amritsar, which symbolizes service. He urged attendees to work with renewed energy and a sense of dedication towards uplifting society through the cooperative movement.
National President also lauded the role being played by Sahakar Bharati and said to the thousands of Karyakartas coming from various parts of the country that your organization is unique from others in terms of reach and service.
Chief Guest Shankarbhai Chaudhary called it a day of great honour to receive recognition from an organization aligned with the nation’s ethos. He assured his commitment to continuing impactful work through Banas Dairy, which has been instrumental in benefiting farmers.
Chaudhary also lauded Sahakar Bharati’s motto, “No Cooperation Without Values, No Upliftment Without Cooperation,” calling it a guiding principle for advancing the cooperative movement.
Dr. Uday Joshi, National General Secretary, presented a three-year report and remarked on the historical significance of December 6. He acknowledged the sacrifices of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and commemorated the Mahaparinirvana Day of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, highlighting their blessings for the convention.
Dr. Joshi detailed Sahakar Bharati’s achievements over the past three years and its vision for the future.
A special exhibition showcasing Sahakar Bharati’s initiatives was inaugurated by Pradeep Joshi, National Co-Head of Publicity for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Former Ambassador of India and social activist Taranjit Singh was also present at the event.
The convention, dedicated to promoting the spirit of cooperation, saw the participation of over 2,500 representatives from across the country.
