According to a report by Indian Express NCP leader Ajit Pawar’s position as the director of Pune district central cooperative bank is threatened in the wake of a show cause notice issued to him recently by the district cooperative registrar.
43 directors of other DCC banks who have been served similar notices are also likely to lose their positions and be barred from fighting cooperative elections for the next two terms.
Apart from Pawar, several politicians belonging to NCP and Congress have received notices.
Official sources are quoted saying these leaders will now be issued a legal notice after 15 days. After that, the respective district registrars of cooperative bodies will hold hearing as per the Cooperative Act.
