Uttrakhand cooperator Pramod Kumar Singh is busy these days in giving final touches to his dream project. He is building world class office for the Uttarakhand State Cooperative Federation at Haridwar bypass, Ajabpur Kalan in Dehradun.
Almost the entire structure is ready and I am going to invite who is who of the cooperative world at its inauguration in the coming month of January, a proud Singh told this correspondent.
The project costs about Rs. 22 crore and Rs. 13 crore had already been paid to the contractor out of profit of the federation, Singh added. At present the federation is on a rented land paying Rs. 70,000 per month.
He said during the tenure of former Chief Minister N.D.Tiwari the land allotted to the Uttrakhand State Cooperative Federation had been used by Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam but we would soon take possession of the land.
The total area of land is about 6,000 square meters and our new federation building encompasses four stories and a basement, Pramod said while explaining the details of the building.
Pramod Singh is an active cooperator from the state and had been publicly admired recently by the State Chief Minister Harish Rawat for the role he is playing in the cooperative movement of the state. He is also on the boards of IFFCO and NCUI.
