In a video message Dileep Sanghani, the President of the apex body of co-ops, NCUI has said that the presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the upcoming Cooperative Congress scheduled for July 1-2 will further electrify and strengthen the cooperative movement in the country.
“He is no ordinary Prime Minister; he is a PM who is welcomed with red carpets and international awards wherever he goes in the world”, said Sanghani stressing the great opportunity the co-op sector will have when Narendra Modi comes to the Pragati Maidan Auditorium on 1st of July to address co-operators assembled from across states as well as scores of co-op sectors.
This is the first time after the formation of the new Ministry that both the Prime Minister and the Cooperation Minister will assemble together and guide us, said Sanghani adding that the Co-op Congress will be presided over by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla.
Several ministers including Mansukhbhai Mandaiya and Parshottam Rupala will also be present, he said.
NCUI is holding the Cooperative Congress at the most opportune time when India is both celebrating the Azadi ke Amrut Mahotsava as well as heading the G20 meeting. Here is a chance to achieve the dream of Sabaka Sath and Sabka Vikas through the cooperative sector, said Sanghani repeating the mantra of Prosperity thru’ cooperatives.
Be it fishermen or weavers, youth or women, farmers or dairy worker-everyone would benefit from this Co-op Congress being organized by the NCUI, said Sanghani adding NCUI’s Haat is already selling products of primary level co-ops after value- adding them.
Earlier, NCUI had invited several cooperators from across states and co-op sectors to its headquarters in Delhi to deliberate on fool proof arrangements for the Cooperative Congress. The meeting was attended by Jyotindra Mehta, Bijender Singh, Ajay Patel, S N Sharma, Ravindra Rao, Sunil Kumar Singh, among others. Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperation Alok Agrawal was also present in the meeting.
Given the number of seats which is 3000 for this function, there is indeed a pressure on the organizers of the congress to accommodate all. “Since there would be a live broadcast of the event as well for those who could not make it to the venue, cooperators and farmers across states could hear the speech of the Prime Minister”, assured Sanghani.
