The Puducherry unit of AIADMK has expressed its deep concern at the collapse of cooperative bodies in the Union Territory. The policies being pursued by the present govt seem to have upended the whole cooperative sector.
A cooperative sugar mill, for example, has gone belly up, complains the AIADMK leader A. Anbalagan.
Anbalagan has said nothing is being done to save the solitary cooperative sugar mill here. He has called upon the LT. Governor to come to the rescue of the cooperative sector.
Nearly half a thousand cooperative societies are being undemocratically run as they have had no elections. Most of them are in crisis and urgent steps are needed to keep them afloat, Anbalagan said.
