Members of the Tamil Nadu State Primary Cooperative Agricultural Bank All Employees Association plan to go on indefinite strike from May 25 if the government does not implement demands including wage hike, pension and insurance cover for fair price shop employees, says a report by the Hindu.
The members earlier staged a day-long fast pressing their demands, including cancellation of increase in penalty amount in case of deficit in stocks in the shop.
Association president P. Sellamuthu said the government announcement on insurance cover for employees remained on paper and had not been implemented yet.
