Four employees of the Berhampur Cooperative Central Bank in Odisha have bilked the bank of nearly Rs. 32 lakh. All of them have been suspended and charged with misappropriation of funds.
One of them has been arrested by the police while the remaining three are still at large. A bank official claimed strict legal action would be taken against all four.
A visit by the special team led to the revelations. There has been a rash of such cases of fraud in cooperative banks across Odisha over the last few months.
In majority of cases cooperative banks are victim of some unscrupulous members of board. But for a change this time the officials of bank has been found to be indulging into mal-practices.
