NCUI’s Co-op Fair kicks off with élan; Sanghani & others buy co-op stuff

NCUI’s Cooperative Fair (Sahakar Mela) 2023 was jointly inaugurated by the NCUI President Dileep Sanghani and International Cooperative Alliance (Asia Pacific) President Dr Chandrapal Singh Yadav in the presence of a large number of prominent people on Friday at the NCUI headquarters in Delhi.

On this occasion, senior officials of NCUI including its CE Sudhir Mahajan, Deputy CE Savitri Singh and many other functionaries of the cooperative fraternity were present.

Talking to the Indian Cooperative correspondent on the sidelines of the event, the NCUI CE said, “This time the Sahakar Mela is unique in many senses because not only SHGs & Farmers’ Producer Organizations (FPOs) are showcasing their products but also government undertakings Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC) and Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WRDA) are through their stalls”, he said.

“Around 45 stalls of SHGs & Farmers’ Producer Organizations (FPOs) along with a few attractive food stalls have been set up at the Cooperative Fair 2023 at the NCUI Campus at 3 August Kranti Marg”, said Mahajan.

He added “This time organizing the Sahakar Mela was not so easy due to the ongoing renovation work at the NCUI Campus but to maintain the continuity and to give a platform to co-ops to showcase their local brands, the NCUI team put in special efforts to make it possible”,

After the inauguration of Mela, Sanghani visited stalls and bought cooperative products to encourage them. Those accompanying Shanghani also bought many cooperative products.

Supporting the cause of authentic local artisans, NCUI is sponsoring Cooperative fair once again providing free stalls, food & lodging facilities to the participating cooperatives and SHGs.

The people from the -NCR region can shop high quality products at ‘fair’ prices at the Cooperative Fair 2023! “Handicrafts, handlooms & apparel, decorative, food items etc., from authentic artisans associated with various cooperatives, SHGs & FPOs from across the country will be available at this one-stop destination – the Cooperative Fair 2023 (3-8 Nov 2023) @ NCUI, Delhi!

It bears recalling that NCUI is organizing its Cooperative Fair (Sahakar Mela) 2023 for the third consecutive year. The last 2 fairs were held on the occasion of All India Cooperative Week (14-20th Nov), but this time around the Sahakar Mela 2023 has been preponed and being held from 3rd-8th Nov 2023 in response to a huge public demand.
