The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), in its commitment to advancing cooperative development through cooperative-social-corporate partnerships, has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education & Development (DTNBWED) and the Tantia Group, Ganganagar.
DTNBWED, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment aims to foster an enlightened and disciplined workforce while driving behavioural changes in the organized, unorganized, and rural sectors. Tantia Group, the largest healthcare and education service provider in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan.
The MoU will enable DTNBWED and NCUI to focus on promoting cooperatives in facility management and emerging economic sectors. Additionally, NCUI and Tantia Group will collaborate with national institutions to drive advancements in technology for production systems, eco-tourism, and sustainable development programs. NCUI will also organize training sessions and workshops with both organizations to implement these strategies effectively.
The signing ceremony was graced by Dileep Sanghani, President of NCUI, who described the partnership as a major milestone in achieving the vision of “Prosperity through Cooperation.” He emphasized that no organization can achieve its goals in isolation, highlighting the necessity of cross-sectoral collaborations to uplift marginalized sections of society.
Virajesh Upadhyay, Chairperson of DTNBWED, stressed the importance of collective efforts for the welfare of workers and stated that the MoU would enable organized meetings to establish coordination between workers and cooperative institutions. He added that integrating workers from the unorganized sector into the cooperative fold would improve their economic conditions and enhance their opportunities.
Vikas Sachdeva, General Manager of Tantia University, assured full support in strengthening the cooperative ecosystem in Rajasthan. He highlighted the collaboration’s role in raising awareness about cooperative entrepreneurship among students and building the capacities of representatives of local bodies and self-help groups in Western Rajasthan.
The event witnessed participation from prominent delegates, including Ashwinbhai Sawalia, Chairman of Amreli District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (AMR Dairy), Dr. R.O. Gupta, Senior General Manager of NDTV, Dr. Omveer Singh, Advisor to NDDB, and Prof. G.P. Singh, Member of NCUI Advisory Council.
Sumit Singh, Advisor – Strategy and Cooperation at NCUI, concluded the event by thanking all the guests, delegates, and media representatives. He assured that a follow-up meeting would soon be convened to implement the action points outlined in the MoU.
