With an aim to achieve Prosperity thru’ co-ops as envisioned by the Prime Minister of India, Dileep Sanghani, President, NCUI chaired a meeting titled ‘Building Cooperative -Social-Corporate Partnerships for Prosperity Through Cooperatives’ at Skill Development Centre, Noida.
Senior executives of national level organisations like Art of Living, HCL Foundation, Ethics Group of Companies, Schneider Electric and Hitachi India confirmed financial support under CSR for establishing training infrastructure and providing resources for running training programs at the Center.
Talking to the Indian Cooperative, Sanghani said that the place would be developed into one of the finest training centers for cooperatives not only in India but also in the world. The impressive building of the Training Center stands proudly in the Noida SEZ area.
Through the collaboration with NCUI, VVKI of Art of Living has brought renowned private sector players for running training programs at the Center on plumbing, electrician, refrigeration, etc. The HCL Foundation has joined hands with NCUI to develop training infrastructure, market platforms and branding support to SHGs and cooperatives across India.
Over the course of the next three years, more than 5000 participants, including women, youth and artisans from marginalized communities will be mobilized for sustainable income-generating opportunities and 90% of the trained youth will be placed in the private sector and other relevant organizations.
In addition to this, the HCL Foundation is going to collaborate with NCUI at pan-India level for achieving shared goals like replicating NCUI Haat and Incubation Center projects in many states, mobilizing communities and forming SHGs and cooperatives and providing branding, IT and promotion to artisans and cooperatives across India.
Ethics Group through its CSR arm named Ethics Welfare Foundation will establish a training center on trades related to logistics and warehousing and the trained youth and women will be placed in its world-class warehousing properties in Gurgaon and other locations. Hitachi India has also offered to establish a training center to train the youth and women in operation and maintenance of electric vehicles at the Center.
In total, financial support worth over ten crores from the private sector under Corporate Social Responsibility is expected to be spent as capital and operational expenditure in the next one year. The initiative will help NCUI in establishing world-class infrastructure for empowering cooperatives across.the country.
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Chief Executive, NCUI thanked them for their support and invited them to work closely with CEDC for empowering the needy sections of society. Sanghani congratulated the Team NCUI for their commendable efforts to realize the vision of ‘Sahkaar Se Samrudhhi’. Savitri Singh, Dy.
