In a significant move towards strengthening the cooperative movement, the National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE), under the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), has unveiled a pioneering training program titled “Formation of Cooperative Societies.”
This initiative, aligned with the government’s efforts to promote cooperative entrepreneurship, targets freshers, students, youth, and cooperative trainers.
The week-long residential program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for establishing and managing successful cooperative societies.
Topics covered include the cooperative business model, Business Model Canvas preparation, social enterprises, campus cooperatives (case studies), successful cooperative business models, and various components of cooperative entrepreneurship such as planning, management, leadership, accounting, finance, HRD, and marketing.
Savitri Singh, Deputy Chief Executive at NCUI and Head of NCCE, emphasized that the program is not only geared towards individual growth but also fostering a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset among participants. NCUI will cover the participants’ travel, boarding, lodging, course materials, practical training, study visits, etc.
Open to graduates from diverse backgrounds, the program anticipates approximately 50 participants nationwide. The group will comprise freshers, new recruits, and students from recognized universities interested in understanding cooperative functioning and initiating cooperative enterprises for livelihood and employment generation.
NCCE, under NCUI, remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing cooperative education and training. With a mission to empower individuals with the skills needed for successful cooperative societies, NCCE plays a crucial role in promoting collaboration and entrepreneurship within the cooperative sector.
