With preparations in full swing, NCUI is ready to host a State-Level Conference in Tripura in collaboration with the Cooperative Department of Tripura and the Tripura State Cooperative Union on 4th February 2025. Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, will grace the conference as Chief Guest and inaugurate the event.
The event will be presided over by Dileep Sanghani, President, NCUI. More than 1,200 representatives from state, district, and primary-level cooperative organizations, officials of the Cooperative Department, and other stakeholders associated with the cooperative movement in Tripura are expected to participate.
In line with this, the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), with the support of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, is organizing a series of events across India throughout the year to highlight the contribution of cooperatives to social and economic development, says NCUI in a press release.
Sukla Charan Noatia, Minister of Cooperation, Government of Tripura, Mailafru Mog, MLA and Chairman of the Tripura State Cooperative Union, Dipak Majumder, MLA and Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Tapas Ray, IAS, Secretary (Cooperation), Government of Tripura, and Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Chief Executive, NCUI, are among other dignitaries who will attend the event.
Ved Prakash Setia, Executive Director and Nodal Officer of NCUI for the planning and execution of various programs under the IYC2025 celebrations, along with his team, has been working tirelessly to ensure the success of the conference, which holds great significance for the north eastern states. As a prelude to the event, NCUI successfully organized a one-day State-Level Youth Workshop (Cooperative Olympiad) on 31st January 2025, engaging more than 150 students from educational institutions in Tripura. The event included a quiz and debate competition, and the winners will be felicitated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the conference on 4th February 2025.
The Department of Cooperation, Government of Tripura, is leaving no stone unturned to mobilize a large number of participants for this mega event. The conference presents a valuable opportunity for cooperative members, leaders, and other stakeholders in Tripura to deliberate on the issues and challenges faced by various sectors of the cooperative movement in the state.
With enthusiastic participation and high-level discussions, the event is expected to strengthen the cooperative movement in the north eastern region and contribute to the larger vision of IYC 2025.
