The fourth meeting of the National Level Committee for drafting the new National Cooperative Policy document will be held on 19th December 2022 i.e. today at the Jio World Centre, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The meeting is being convened under the chairmanship of former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu. Apart from the representatives of National apex Co-operative federations and others of the panel, Additional Secretary and Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies Vijay Kumar would also attend the meeting.
The agenda of the meeting includes, “Presentations by Conveners of several sub committees on various Themes. Each Group will be given 15 minutes to present.
The meeting agenda includes Inputs from Delhi Declaration on Women Cooperatives, Study tour of Germany by APMAS & National Federations (handing over of the documents to the Chairman of the Committee), Constitution of the Drafting Committee by the Chairman to finalize the theme-based inputs into the final report and discussion on the work plan for the next meeting.
It bears recalling that last month several sub committees were constituted by the National Level Committee for drafting the new National Cooperative Policy Document. The conveners include NCUI President Dileepbhai Sanghani, National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories MD Prakash Naiknavare, RBI Central Board Director Satish Marathe, M P Tangrila, Anoop Kumar, B L Meena, Amul MD R S Sodhi, Praveen Reddy, Y Dongre, Dr C Pitchai, Maninder Singh, Nita Kejriwal, Dr Umakant Dash, HK Mishra, Dr Sukhpal Singh and the Nabard Chairman.
The cooperative policy is divided into eight themes including Introduction, Current States and Strategies for growth and development, Structural reforms and governance framework, cooperatives as vibrant entities, training, continuing education, research, knowledge dissemination, accelerating the cooperative movement, infrastructure, technology and innovations and Networks, convergence & collaborations.
The Panel is rushing against time as the Ministry has given it a time frame of 90 days. The primary focus of the Panel is to achieve the target of “Cooperation to Prosperity” in consultation with all the stakeholders for all-round development of cooperatives at all levels.
