LINAC, NCDC Bhuvaneshwar, recently conducted a one day training program on ”General management in Primary Cooperatives” on the occasion of World Fishery Day at its regional training center in Bhuvaneshwar, informs a press note.
World Fisheries Day is celebrated every year on November 21 to highlight the importance of healthy oceans ecosystems and to ensure sustainable stocks of fisheries in the world. Fishing communities celebrate this day through rallies, workshops, public meetings, cultural dramas, exhibitions, and music shows.
The training program was conducted under the guidance of Sundeep Kumar Nayak, I.A.S, Managing Director, NCDC, says the release. There were 21 participants in the program out of which 19 women and 2 males were from 3 fishermen societies and 4 weavers’ cooperative societies from Cuttack and Khorda districts.
The training program was especially designed for Secretaries, Presidents and other members of the Boards of Directors of Primary Level Cooperative Societies with special focus on women cooperators of the weaker section cooperatives.
Dr. R.N. Gopal, Regional Director, NCDC, Bhubaneswar welcomed the guests and the participants of the training program and briefed about the objective of the training program.
In his remarks, he emphasized on training needs of cooperative professionals of primary level cooperatives to develop concepts of General Management in Primary Cooperatives to run cooperative societies professionally with a focus on nurturing primary level cooperative societies with the financial assistance from NCDC under Sahakar-22 vision of NCDC.
S.P. Rath, Ex- Regional Director of NCDC, Bhubaneswar, Bramhananda Parida, Dy. Secretary, Odisha State Cooperative Union graced the occasion as guests of honour and also addressed the participants.
