The newly elected Board member of NAFSCOB Mr Ashok Bajaj was greeted by the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr Raman Singh when he went to meet him along with a delegation on Thursday in Raipur.
Mr Bajaj was elected unanimously in the election of the apex national body of cooperative banks on Monday in Mumbai. Congratulating Bajaj the Chief Minister said that with his election we hope the cooperative movement will get a boost in the state.
Mr Ashok Bajaj was earlier elected Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank with the support of Chief Minister Raman Singh. As the news of him making it to the highest body spread, his supporters thronged his residence in Raipur.
Readers would note that Mr Dilip Singh Sanghani is the new Chairman of the apex national body of cooperative banks NAFSCOB, election for which was held Monday in Mumbai. He was unanimously elected while Ramesh Chaubey of Bihar State Cooperative Bank bagged the post of vice-chairman.
Bijender Singh the outgoing Chairman of NAFSCOB is said to be the real king-maker whom the elected Board members had entrusted to name the persons for the top posts on a consensus formula. Singh ruled NAFSCOB for the last 10 years and the bye-laws did not permit him to fight for a third-time.
