The apex federation of state cooperative banks NAFSCOB held its Board meeting in Chattisgarh last week. The Apex Bank Chairman Ashok Bajaj said it is the first time that the NAFSCOB’s Board is meeting in Raipur.
Besides the board members the state agriculture minister Mr Brij Mohan Agrawal also participated in the event. He said cooperative banks are playing a major role in giving loans to the farmers.
The co-operative conference that took place after the Board meeting saw meaningful debates on the goals and performance of the cooperative sector in society. Speaking on the occasion Ashok Bajaj said Chattisgarh is a state where co-op banks give loan to farmers without charging any interest.
On this occasion the Governing council members also visited the centers of Primary agricultural cooperative credit societies located in the State. The GC praised the interest free loan scheme and Public distribution system which are operated by these PACS societies here.
NAFSCOB leaders gave Kisan Credit Card to the members of PACS and also distributed Digital Pump sets, Foot Spare and other agricultural inputs to the famers which were provided by the agricultural department of the state.
Among others NAFSCOB Chairman Dilip Shangani, Vice President, Bijendra Singh, Apex Bank chairman Ashok Bajaj, Ramesh Chaubey, Ulas B Phaldesai, Avtar Singh Jeera, Bhagat Singh, Mrs T Lalmunpai, Mrs Leela Madrena, Rajesh Singh Yadav, K P Bebi, K N Rahanna, Dr N Murlidharan, K Naga Maleshwar Rao, Tusharkanti Panda and NAFSCOB MD B Subramaniyam were present.
