KSCUBF-the apex body of Karnataka State Urban Cooperative Bank will hold ‘All Indian Urban Cooperative Banking Summit” in Bengaluru on Saturday that is 28th October 2017. The event is likely to be inaugurated by Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka.
The topic of the summit is “Digital Banking for Financial Inclusion-Key for economic growth in India”. Discussions will also be held on challenges being faced by the Cooperative Banking Sector.
Talking to Indian Cooperative Pundalik N.Keure, CEO of KSCUBF informed that invitations have been sent to several VIPs including Siddaramaiah Chief Minister of Karnataka, H.K.Patil, Minister for Rural Development and Panchyati Raj and other stalwarts associated with the Urban Cooperative Banking sector. However, he was unsure of who all will grace the occasion.
More than 400 delegates from across the country and 100 urban co-op banks would take part in the function. Several Presidents from various State Urban Cooperative Banks Federations are expected to join, he added.
It is being reported that around 400 Co-operative Banks, 50 DCCB Banks and more than 800 delegates of them will participate in the summit. More than 25 exhibition stalls will be set up at the exhibition.
“Karnataka is lagging behind in technology adoption in the urban cooperative banking sector. They are hella lazy in adopting the cashless system; The summit will offer them a chance to learn things,”, Keure explained.
The Urban Banks federation representing 266 Urban Cooperative Banks in Karnataka has been playing a pivotal role in implementing and organizing various activities for the overall development of Urban Cooperative Banks in State.
Readers would recall that last year in November Karnataka state cooperative urban banks federation had organized a Karnataka Urban Cooperative Banking Summit in Belgaum which was attended by more than 300 delegates from the cooperative sector.
