Mohol asks VAMNICOM to work aligning with PM’s vision

The newly appointed Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Aviation, Muralidhar Mohol, made a  visit to the Vaikunth Mehta Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) in Pune on Sunday, wherein the Institute Director Dr Hema Yadav briefed him on the various activities of the Vamnicom.

 This visit was one of his first official engagements since taking charge of his new role. The Minister honoured the legacy of Vaikunth Mehta, a pioneer in the cooperative movement, by garlanding his statue and acknowledging his enduring contributions to the sector.

Dr. Hema Yadav, the Director of VAMNICOM, along with the institute’s officers and staff, extended a warm welcome to Mohol, presenting him with a bouquet as a gesture of goodwill.

Dr. Yadav expressed her congratulations to the Minister on his new responsibilities and shared her hopes that his leadership would invigorate the cooperative movement not only in Maharashtra but across the entire country.

During his visit, Dr. Yadav provided Mohol with a detailed presentation on the institute’s varied activities and the specific initiatives undertaken by its seven centers. She emphasized the significant strides made in cooperative education and training, particularly highlighting the institute’s achievements in consistently securing 100% job placements for graduates of its Post Graduation Diploma in Management – Agri Business Management (PGDM-ABM) program.

Hema also noted the success of the Post Graduation – Diploma in Cooperative Business Management (PG-DCBM), which focuses on women’s development and entrepreneurship in cooperation.

Mohol took the opportunity to interact personally with the faculty and staff, gaining insights into the institute’s role and impact in the cooperative sector since its establishment in 1967. He reviewed all the centers and training programs currently running at VAMNICOM and shared his views on the future of cooperatives in India.

The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the institute’s efforts and achievements, and he encouraged the VAMNICOM team to continue their work with a vision that aligns with the initiatives of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, and the Central Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri. Amit Shah.

This visit of Muralidhar Mohol to VAMNICOM is expected to be important for the institute, strengthening its vital role in cooperative education and training. With the Minister’s guidance and suggestions, VAMNICOM is poised to enhance its initiatives, increasing the effectiveness and reach of cooperative training programs throughout India, thereby contributing significantly to the sector’s growth and development.
