MNS bid to enter cooperative politics?

Is MNS planning to enter cooperative politics of Maharashtra by weakening NCP’s hold on the sector? Political pundits are trying to find answer amidst news of NCP heavyweight Shivajirao Nalavade quitting NCP to join Raj Thakeray led MNS.

Issue of “hate bhaiyyas” (people from eastern UP and Bihar) seems to take MNS no where and it is in search of plank to hype its campaign. Sooner than later it has come to realize that the real political power emanates from holding the seat of cooperative Boards, opined one expert.

Mr Nalavade is a big fish whom MNS has trapped. He was close to Chhagan Bhujbal and had problem with Sharad Pawar’s nephew Ajit Pawar who is the key man overseeing the affairs of party in Maharashtra.

But Nalavade is also an important cooperative leader  as he is on board of many cooperatives including  Mumbai District Central Cooperative Bank and Maharashtra state cooperatives’ apex body.

Raj Thakeray must be busy planning  big cooperative games with Nalavade in his team. Senior Pawar should take note and counsel the younger one.
