Cooperative Minister of Karnataka H.S.Mahadev felicitated Manavi Urban Cooperative Bank Chairman Thimmaiah Shetty with the appreciation award for their praiseworthy performance in a valedictory function of the Karnataka Urban Cooperative Banking Summit in Belgaum last week.
The function was attended by the Chairman and CEO of Karnataka state cooperative urban banks federation, H K Patil, Minister of Rural Development & Panchyati Raj Government of Karnataka, Karnataka Legislative Assembly speaker,and about 3,000 representatives from the Cooperative sector and others.
“The first prize has given to Suco Cooperative Bank and second was bagged by Vikas Urban Cooperative Bank whereas I got the third prize”, said Shetty to this correspondent on phone from Karnataka.
The Karnataka State Urban Cooperative Banks Federation will set up a Suvarna Bhavan at the cost of Rs. 2 crore inside the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board’s industrial estate in Autonagar to mark its golden jubilee.
The summit discussed demonetization as well as challenges facing the cooperative banking sector.
Manavi UCB was established in 1993 and has 11 branches in the state. In the year 2015-16 it earned a net profit of Rs 1.3 crore.
