Dr Sukesh Zamwar , CEO Buldana Urban has been honoured by the Mahrashtra Govt for leading the largest multi-state credit cooperative society in the state. Buldana Urban active in the Buldana area of the state is a multi-purpose cooperative with varied interests.
The prestigious Dipstambhva Award [Light House] has been bestowed on Zamwar by the Department of Cooperation, Govt of Maharashtra.
Buldana employs the concept of multi-purpose cooperative in solving everyday municipal problems. It offers water ATMs, Vedic schools, hotels, bridges, spinning mills and even guest houses at religious places such as Shirdi and Tripati.
Buldana boasts a business mix of 1.3 Billion USD with a workforce counting close to 5500. The company’s core competence is offering credit as a cooperative and this is evident from the fact that it has a spread of about 365 branches doing it.
Sukesh was recently at NCUI in Delhi participating in a NAFCUB-NCUI seminar held to oppose the draconian unregulated deposit Bill being proposed by the govt. Making a strong case for withdrawal of the strangulating bill Zamwar said the motivation for the bill has come from UK. The basic difference between the two economies- speculative vs real has not been grasped, he argued.
