Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has reaffirmed the Madhya Pradesh government’s commitment to the welfare of all citizens through transparent governance from the Panchayat level to the Secretariat.
Speaking at the state-level program for the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 at Coordination Bhavan, he emphasized the cooperative sector’s growth under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Their vision of “bahujan hitay-bahujan sukhay” (welfare and happiness for all) has propelled Madhya Pradesh toward significant progress in cooperative initiatives.
Dr. Yadav highlighted that, like Gujarat’s bonus system on milk, Madhya Pradesh is adopting similar strategies to benefit its dairy sector. Additionally, with a vast area dedicated to fisheries, the state is integrating its cooperative movement with industrial development.
The recent Global Investors Summit saw the cooperative sector collaborating with industries, further strengthening its presence. He noted that cooperative governance has become more transparent, and in the next four years, the sector will reach new heights.
During the event, Dr. Yadav welcomed participants from across the state and distributed appointment letters to newly appointed cooperative inspectors. He praised the cooperative department for its efforts in advancing the sector.
He also drew parallels between India’s historical cooperative ethos and its modern cooperative initiatives, underscoring the nation’s commitment to collective prosperity, as reflected in the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family). He credited Prime Minister Modi for elevating India’s global stature through cooperative principles.
Dr. Yadav reiterated the state’s alignment with Modi’s vision of multi-purpose cooperative societies. Under Amit Shah’s leadership, the central government has streamlined cooperative policies, reducing the time for society registration from 90 to 30 days.
Madhya Pradesh is actively working to simplify procedures and expand the cooperative sector’s role in industrialization. The state aims to provide greater benefits to farmers, cattle breeders, and fish farmers, ensuring comprehensive development through cooperatives.
As part of the event, Dr. Yadav hoisted the cooperative flag and released an annual calendar, a PACS work manual, and various circular booklets for the International Year of Cooperatives 2025. He also inaugurated the Micro ATM Fortnight and honored outstanding cooperative societies, dairy cooperatives, and fishery institutions from districts like Vidisha, Indore, and Khargone for their exemplary contributions.
Minister of Cooperation and Sports & Youth Welfare, Vishwas Kailash Sarang, emphasized that Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah have championed the concept of prosperity through cooperation. He highlighted the introduction of the Cooperative Public-Private Partnership (CPPP) model at the recent GIS-Bhopal, marking a new phase of innovation in the cooperative department.
The event saw the presence of senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary of Cooperation Ashok Barnwal, Principal Secretaries of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, the Managing Director of State Cooperative Marketing Federation, and NABARD representatives, alongside officers and employees from various cooperative institutions. Apex Bank MD Manoj Kumar Gupta concluded the event by expressing gratitude to all stakeholders.
