Another meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee tasked with reviewing the MSCS Amendment Bill, 2022 was held on Monday at the committee room of the Parliament House Annexe Extension, New Delhi.
During the meeting the members deliberated on different clauses of the Multi State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2022 further to amend the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002.
After the meeting, talking to the Indian Cooperative JPC head and Lok Sabha MP from Chittorgarh Chandra Prakash Joshi said, “It was an internal meeting and Union Cooperation Ministry officials, JPC Committee members and some others were there”.
“We are working hard to meet the deadline for submitting the report to the House by the last day of the first week of the second part of the Budget Session, 2023. As right now I am busy, I will soon come back to you”, Joshi added.
The official twitter handle of Lok Sabha wrote, The Joint Committee on the Multi-State Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2022 met today under Chairmanship of Shri @cpjoshiBJP, MP and took up Clause by Clause consideration of the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2022”.
During the meeting, from the Ministry of Cooperation, its Secretary Gaynesh Kumar, Additional Secretary Vijay Kumar and others were present.
Meanwhile, sources said, the leaders of Sahakar Bharati have also sought time to present their views and suggestions on the said bill before the JPC committee. Their views include that the amended act should be forward looking, growth oriented and develop prudential regulations rather than macro management.
It bears recalling that in the last meeting the JPC Joint Parliamentary Committee met representatives of Nabard, NAFCARD, NCDC and NCCF to seek their views on various aspects of the new law, before finalizing its report to be placed before the country’s Parliament.
